Occasionally they play songs I actually like, such as AHa and Beach Boys, but most of it is so mind-numbingly bland and unoffensive it would neutralize any other music in the general vicinity.

It would take some pretty bland stuff to neutralise my drum'n'bass back catalogue, but it's a chance I'm willing to take. Bring it on.

I'll make it into a CD (or two), but I'm gonna warn you. The songs by themselves aren't bad at all; some are even great. Unfortunately, something about how they are all put together just takes the life out of them. Some songs were not meant to be in a playlist together.

Even worse...the stupid radio played "American Pie" several times today and some freaking stupid managerk (manager + jerk) froze the PA system so no one could make a page at all. Which means the song played through in it's annoying entirety. But do they let me do that when "Kokomo" or "Take On Me" plays? Of course not. I loathe "American Pie." With a passion as great as the oceans.

I've been dying to fill out one of those forms again, but haven't had a chance to do it lately.

Oh don't worry, when I send the CDs, they should arrive fine. Whether or not they arrive with an armed escort is another matter...

And of course I have plenty of the...shipping envelopes I used last time...

CD #1 playlist is done. Artwork will be finished tonight. Burning will commence shortly.

I'm debating on whether to complete CD #2 or not. It's got some great songs on it, but I'm having a problem pulling it all together thematically. I'm going to think about it for a few more days, but perhaps I'll be mailing in the next week or so.

How about, "Queer Songs for the Straight Throngs?"

Cause we all know I'm as crooked as they come.

I finally got a nice long list for my double disk Songs Of The Blue Vest (you asked for it...) but I still have to find most of them since I currently don't have a lot of the songs. And I've been trying to get various departments to give me a recording of their little announcements, but it's not exactly something people are willing to do...

Of course that's just the supplemental CD. I'm still trying to decide how to do the other one. Which might take a while. But that's good anyway, because a lot of songs I'll have to download or borrow from others and until I get the shiny new DSL modem (which will take a month from today), I won't be able to do much. Cause the PC is too snobby to share the modem with my Mac. In fact, it won't even touch the modem with the Mac disconnected. The Mac is more than happy to share since it's well aware that it's my favorite. Even if it can't play Vice City.

How is everyone fixed for delivery dates?

I was just contemplating that 20 minutes ago. I think I'll burn this week, ship on Saturday. Just one disc this time, my second disc swirled around and finally went down the drain.

I'm still working on the downloading. I've been too lazy to do anything lately. Plus infecting my new computer with Phil Collins seems wrong. But I hope to be done by the end of the month. I figure that's a decently reasonable goal.

Sorry folks but my CDs are going to be on hold for a week or two due to a bereavement.

I'm still alive. Right after I signed up for this swap, that write-an-album thing popped up, and it took up all my spare time in February. Before then, I had burned a copy of the first draft of a fun CD called "Twelve-Bar Rock," intended to be unleashed on you all. A couple of songs didn't burn right, so now I'm gonna fix it and ship it. Should be in the next week or so...

Sorry for the delay on my end, guys. With the annual inventory idiocy, I've been up to my ears in work and too tired for much after the day is done. I'm going to at least try to finish my supplemental CD today since it's all but burned. The main CD will take some time since all those brilliant ideas I had after the last swap have completely left my mind.

Since my disc is now officially Choad-tested, Ivytopia-approved, I'll post the track list with minimal commentary. I just threw this disc together, nothing too significant about the tracks other than I like them all and thought they'd sound nice together.

1. Intro This is the first few seconds of the Parliament Funkadelic song, "P-Funk (Wants Ta Get Funked Up)." I thought about including the whole song as the intro, but decided against it. These first 6 seconds were all I needed to set the scene.

2. Isaac Hayes - Theme From Shaft My favourite movie theme of all time.

14. The Clinton Administration - Hit It and Quit It This is a bunch of former members of Greyboy Allstars and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. I don't know which ones--Karl Denson may have a Tiny Universe, but he has a giant ego, so both bands were a revolving door.

15. Archie Bell & The Drells - Tighten Up A great scene in the Simpsons was when Homer was busking as a one-man band. He introduces himself, "Hi, I'm Archie Bell, and I'm also the Drells. Here's a little number called Tighten' Up."

16. Treva Whateva - Singalong In some other thread, I referred to this as my strutting-around-town song. I'm not sure if it belongs on this disc, but its so fun, I could put it anywhere and it would work.

17. George Clinton - Let's Take It to the Stage/Do That Stuff Hmmm, I listed this as George Clinton, but I guess it's technically Parliament.

Okay, I was so freaking close to getting those CDs burned, but the PC just freaked out on me and I can't figure out what's wrong with the damned thing and HP's tech support has been outsourced to India where guys who have just the most basic grasp of english read scripts that mean nothing, especially when I've already said three times that the computer will not turn on and the cables are fine.

They had scripts for SMALL TALK!

Anyway, it will be 14 days at least before I get it back, provided I don't get help from someone more competant in the meantime.
