Kramer_vs_Kramer's CD Review:
Wow, 21 songs?! Well done. Loved the cover art, fit well after listening to the disc.
1. Richard Gibbs - This has got to be in an alien movie. That's all there is to say.
2. Evil Nine ft. Aesop Rock - At first, this was a weird, kind of bland rap, but with the introduction of a few cool effects it got groovy.
3. Kenickie - Kind of like The Distillers, only in the way that they both have a kind of punk, female lead singer. A lot better than the Distillers though. (I do have a bad ear when telling women from men in the vocals lately.. please correct me)
4. Jamie Lidell - This was a funky, jammy, awesome song. I danced and wished I could sing like this dude.
5. The Starlets - Sounds like an old, 50's, wall-of-sound Phil Spector band, but blues. Very cool, 'specially the harmonica.
6. TV on the Radio - Falsetto harmonizing with a fast metronome type beat.... the crazy type of cool.
7. Chicks on Speed ft. Peaches - A friend of mine and I like the Peaches song "Fuck the Pain Away." Ok, well, not really, but it is hilarious. This song is a little less vulgar but equally strange.
8. Patrick Wolf - The singing here was a little to moany for my taste, but the beat was extra cool in a "getting revenge" kind of way.
9. Annie - Techno-ey disco-ey happy nonos yay land 4eva.
10. Xiu Xiu - I have definitely heard this somewhere before. I can just imagine the singer's face.. waaaooohh wwaaa.
11. Clor - Kind of a classic rock-dance song, with very cool synth style effects. Liked it.
12. Whitey - Awesome band name. Awesome song. Period. Blood. Ew.
13. Guther - Very chill, laid-back, kind of taking it all in song. Liked very much.
14. Quintron & Miss Pussycat - This was a pretty all-over-the-place song, like something put behind an insane man's dream.
15. Clinic - What instrument is that on the bridges or chorus? Cool sound, unique sound.
16. Mazzy Star - Very chill again, almost saddening when the singing came in.
17. The Cramps - This song is awesome, chill and/or cool. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
18. Errors - My inner robot emerged whilst listening to this. And that robot never ran out of dance batteries.
19. Mulatu Astatke - I can see Choad putting this on his disc. Oh... he did! You beat him to it! I love the old sound with the new beat combo.
20. Gold Chains - i'm electric, motherfuckers. Awesome raprocktechno style, falling in line with most of the CD.
21. Dj/Rupture - Banjo? Doesn't get better. I sense you enjoy female singers, this must be of the cream of the crop.
5/5 for new music to cpausti's ears
4/5 for picking a ton of songs and me actually liking most of them
The comic on the back is ha-larious.
Amazing job putting so many songs together that fall into a category of music I can't think up a name for.
Rochno chill vibe.
