Sorry about that, Biped.  It seems all my accounts were hacked by a gang of cheesy 1940s style gangsters and they've been using them to shake down people for "protection" money.  Shit's crazy, right?

Oh, hey -- thanks for that review of Slit Mouth Woman or whatever that Japanese thing was called.  The picture that accompanied the review was of great use in trolling a porn forum and killing some boners.  Good times.

The trouble with Death Proof is the sad treatment of it on release (in UK at least) when it came out in US as a double feature with Planet Terror (and all the hilarious trailers) it felt like a complete package and a homage to the genre. When they split them in two, it sort of killed  the magic, and instead of getting a complete vision we get a wonky extended version of DP (hence the untreated scenes) which would never ever live up to mainstream cinema's idea of a tarrantino flick hence the baffled popcorn crowd and weak reviews. Rodriguez's Planet Terror has more of that indie flavour of the director anyway  and I suppose can stand up in that respect.  Its sad, but if the studio had had more bottle and trusted us punters with the single release of grindhouse they would have had had at least my cinema fare, and the DVD would be sitting on my shelf.  As it stands they have neither (well I may pick up the Japanese version of Grindhouse in its original form if I ever see it cheap enough) 

 Good review though.

I've never even seen GRINDHOUSE, so I only know the two films as seperate entities.  I would love to see the whole package with the added trailers and the overall "double feature" effect, but I would miss the added scenes in DEATH PROOF.
