This new art is fabulous... But whatever happened to the "Tobor's Pizza" one, or would that infringe the copyright from dieselsweeties/explodingdog?

what about splitting the make page into 2, a beginners mode and an advanced mode (with an option in preferences). The beginners mode can come with a few carefully selected sets or even the original stripcreator sets, and a few backgrounds (again chosen carefully) and an advanced mode where everything is available. This way a new user stumbling upon the site isnt overwhelmed by the level of art available.

Another idea I had today was customisable favourites set(s), whereby a user can create a their own set of their most used characters (alternatively you could base it on the characters they use the most or within the last 10 strips or whatever), this would also be ideal for those of us who do series and use the same characters over and over.

For stuff like that, I still like the idea of a "copy comic" button.

I like this idea. I've been thinking along the lines of a way to dynamically select between art sets ("new user" and "advanced" lets say), but that gets really tricky to do while you're editing. Maybe a whole other make page is worthwhile. There are some other features I've been thinking about putting in but haven't wanted to because of the clutter.

That's a good idea too, though probably a ton of work for something most users won't use. I think the clone comic idea (to use other comics as a template) would be simpler to add and more or less accomplish the same thing, no?

eg: only allow the new art to people that have been with stripcreator 6 months and have a 3 star rating or higher.

That's an interesting idea, but I think would cause more complaints than letting people just pay for it. "user x just voted me down and now I can't use the new art."

Right now I'm thinking about doing this advanced make page with more art and options for donors and also finally making the delete function available to all users.

I didn't draw the current cowboy.
I also don't see what the big deal is, as both my cowboy and idian would go into my category, which isn't all that full.
Not to mention my cowboy isn't just a cowboy. It's the Lone frigging Ranger. Let's see you do Lone Ranger jokes with the current cowboy. Wouldn't really work. But you can still do regular cowboy jokes with the Lone Ranger. And imagine the amount of Brokeback Mountain jokes that could be made between my Lone Ranger, Mmeyers' character and the regular cowboy as the "straight man".

I think you're doin' a little more than generating gravitons up on that mountain.

Yeah, I guess that would happen. It would probably also increase the number of rating requests by PM.

Also, if you really want to spruce this place up you could always add another layer to the comics, to allow alternate facial expressions to be overlayed onto the characters.

I can't speak for the other artists, but I'd have no problem drawing up a dozen or so faces for each character.
