Ok, Mr. History. Where did Tobor come from anyway?

Mr. Search Function says: Though the character string "Tobor" first appears in Comic #4890, where it does appear to refer to Red Robot, the seed from which our Tobor sprouted is most likely Comic #11138, a boorite joint from Serial Comic 1, in which a human in a Tobor suit utters that now-famous phrase. The robot at last achieves his own identity in Comic #12068, also by boorite, who would probably be a better person to answer this question.

I can use "Mr. Search Function". I'm just wondering if he was a product of boorite's imagination only or if the idea came up in the forums is all.

If we look at this, we find that the Red Robot from our diesel sweeties selections is :

Red Robot #C-63 is the sworn enemy of all hu-mans. His fling with Eve led him to be the world's first hypocritical robot. He's originally from Exploding Dog.

I was probably the first to call him Tobor and certainly coined the phrase, "Raaar, Tobor will cornhole you." The context was a serial comic parody of Mary Worth, wherein the stripper before me set me up with the S&M penguin as Robert Downey, Jr., who had supposedly made Mary dress up in a red robot suit, presumably for prurient reasons. So I had Mary chase him around pretending to be this Tobor, which gave Mr. Downey quite a thrill, apparently.

Tobor was a science-fiction robot from old B-movies. It's "Robot" backwards. Clever, huh?

I'm putting "Raaar, Tobor will cornhole you" on my c.v., under "publications."
