Ah dang, I knew I forgot something when I was in town last - I forgot to buy blank disks.

Ah well, easily fixed in the near future. In any case, I haven't picked a title yet for my mix, but I am doing a cool piece of artwork for the cover. I've sketched it out already, next step is inking it and scanning it into my computer for coloring.

With any luck, I'll have all my CD's finished by this week, and if you're all lucky they'll be sent out by Monday... otherwise figure sometime at the end of May :(

All my cds are made. Each one has a different list, so I need time to write out the playlist of each one and I'm going to start mailing probably this weekend. Again, out of US first, because they're going to cost me more and the US ones are probably going to go out all at once.

Got my new CD burner. Don't have discs though, and haven't finished my list.

Can anyone recommend a good burning program? Preferably something that lets you adjust the volume levels of tracks to keep them all relatively the same.

Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6

I had to update my burner program when I upgraded to XP. Roxio is painless (as is suicide). You can adjust the volume levels of tracks, edit them somewhat and do other stuff like print labels.

I found mine at a local "used everything" place for pretty cheap last year. I think Roxio is on version 9 or 10 now, so you might find a 7 or 8. Good luck.

Being that I'm so totally stoked for this swap, I've already burnt, labeled, and envelope'd everyone's cd's.

However...

Upon looking at my track listing one more time, and burning a copy for myself, I realise that on (what I'm assuming)everyone's track listing, I forgot to put one song on there. I'm awesome, I know. When everyone gets their CD's, or even the first few of you, I'll make sure to make a post saying which song it is, tucked in between the other songs.

Also, CD's should be posted by next week, as I get paid next wednesday. Frank, I'll try to at least get yours out this week so that you will receive it before you move.

I've run into a slight financial snag, so I won't be able to mail mine out until some time after the 15th. I'll hold onto Frank's and wait for him to e-mail his new address before mailing his.  Everyone else should get theirs mailed out after I get some lucre.

Payday! Art is done, are the track lists. CDs should be done this weekend after work (had to buy blanks), mailed sometime next week. Hooray!

Finished the cover art on mine. I've also chosen the name "Mixed Blessing" for my compilation, which makes even more slightly more sense when you see the artwork I did.

Us 'Norn Irish' are a lazy bunch, I ain't done much either, though I have a few songs selected. Been dead busy with the new job recently, so I'll get stuck in soon.

All my cd's are made, but I haven't started on typing out the playlists because it was only yesterday that the stores decided to stock a black cartridge for my printer.

Playlists have been my problem.  I discovered over the weekend that I wanted to put 113 songs on 2 mix CDs.  So now I'm slowly weeding down the playlists to approx. 150 mins worth of music.  Hopefully, I'll be able to find that precarious balance between "listenable" and "batshit insane" that I'm shooting for.

Houston, we have a problem.

Apparently when you purchase material from iTunes, they have a limit of 7 discs being burned with it on it. 50% of my mix has been purchased on iTunes. And, being the totally awesome person that I am, instead of just ripping one of the already burned copies and going from there, I sealed each envelope after I burnt the CD.

Deep thinking on the problem will commence, and a solution will be voiced sometime within the next few days... unless someone else can give me a hint? I can't use nero, as iTunes files are m4a and encrypted and all that jazz.

Freeware programs can decrypt that iTunes stuff, google can bring up a few.

1.Does it cost money to ship from Canada to the US and other countries?

2.When you make the CDs do you have to make a cover to be in a swap?

3.Doyou have to have a certain amount of songs on a cd?

If these can be answered i might be in the CD swap 11 or 12.
