Heh. I've been here in one form or another off and on for years, under several different aliases (although there are a few here who have been around even longer). I remember the things Spankling mentioned. I even remember when he went "Bogart" on us for a while, so I'm sure he can understand the need of some to bury a crusty on-line persona now and then. Just be aware that not every newbie is what he seems, and not all who seem to be posting to be cool (or arrogantly weighing in like they've been on Stripcreator forever) actually give a hang about reputation or feeding thier own egos. I know I hate that crap, which is exactly why I feel the need to break off the crust and reincarnate now and again. I wouldn't be surprised if thier are others.

There will come a time in a year or so when the current "about-a-year" people will look at the new crop, and find that there's really no common ground between them. They'll find the "new" spin on humor to be sophomoric and unfunny, and some of them will say so. It's a timeless pattern that fits any aspect of society. Group dynamics change... that's why they're not group statics.

Of those who leave, some people do fade away, some make grand speeches, and some post a goodbye to clue those who care in about why they left. I think bunner took a little from columns b and c. I think mainly he was sharing his point of view (which, let's face it - is the reason why we post on the forums) for a last time. Also, I think he handled it in a pretty good way.

Bunner: if you're checking the thread, or if you stumble upon it some time several months in the future during a fit of nostalgia over the times at stripcreator that you remember fondly (the way I am right now), I want to thank you for including me in that short list of people you miss. Drop me a line sometime.

Nate: I couldn't "clean up" the forum. That was never really my intent, anyway. I think I mainly wanted to show some people what it was that they were showing of themselves to me, in the hopes that they'd see why I found them so off-putting. I had some issues with not accepting people as they are. That wasn't limited to here, but happened in every online community, and actually to some extent in daily face to face interaction as well. Once I started learning to accept people as they are, I found that most of them are just not worth my time. That's why I pretty much faded away from all my online communities. I still communicate occasionally with some. I miss plenty of people from here, and I miss certain elements of our group's interaction. That's why I came back to poke my head in and see what's up.

Will I go back to posting regularly? Probably not. That's just a realistic assessment of my lack of desire to invest energy in something that doesn't feel fun or interesting any more, and not an indication that anyone has "won." Still, if the people who found such great pleasure in their ability to annoy me want to feel that they've won, they're more than welcome to the sensation of victory. I pity them enough to grant them that.

Just kidding, I have no idea who bunnerab is, but I do know that this isn't the most childish and idiotic forum on the web. Don't you guys have different forums? Ones where you are serious, some where you're crazy and others where you have friends and suchlike? I know I do, I used to frequent the forums at NOFX.com and that is the maddest off the wall posting for shit place I have ever been, and it was funny as fuck. Everyone was in character man, someone would post some nazi shit about culling handicaps and blacks or something and everyone would try to top it taking it to the next level. Eventually someone would freak and believe we had all lost our minds, but it was cool 'cos the point was to be as fucked up as possible so all bets were off or something. Since that site went down I feel I may have gotten a little crazier on some of my more serious forums, just to vent some, some, I don't know what you call it.

The only thing I don't like about SC is that to me it seems slow, there is a lot of inactivity here. It's like nobody gets rated unless it's to make a point about personalities. Only day old n00b get rated for their work. Believe me I read all your shit, I started reading all the photoshop compos from day one and I have read nearly every word in the donors forum, to me it's all new and good but I suppose people get bored.
From what bunner said it sounds like he has talked himself into an on-line personality he can't be arsed to keep anymore and he just wants to stretch a little.

Anyway I have been here since 03 so childish or not, I feel I have the right to start a post your pics thread later on and I want 100% compliance.

If you want serious, just post serious shit if you want funny just keep making comics and posting in the lighthearted threads. GoD knows I avoid the DSMPolitics thread like the plaque that says 'plague' on it.
