I'm an obsessive, not an elitist (anybody with more than one Hall and Oates record in his collection cannot be an elitist) or a collector. Music is my oxygen, my breakfast/lunch/dinner, my reason for continuing existence. An amazing song is like an amazing orgasm, only without the mess. Yes, I like a lot of obscure indie shit, but because I like it, not to be different. I also like a lot of commercial shit (I own a goddamn Kylie Minogue single, people). Labels are mildly useful (ie, if it's "grindcore," chances are really good I'm not gonna like it... but I don't go out buying everything labelled "indiepop" either). Indie vs. major? Doesn't matter if you're a listener.
Maybe I should quit before I start foaming at the mouth and screaming about the purity of 7" vinyl, how the old Sarah catalogue needs to be re-released, and how much I goddamnmotherfuckingshitcock LOVE Talulah Gosh...
