Just for those who don't know what the above strip's gibbering about: Glasgow City Council has been composed almost entirely of the one party for decades (despite the fact that they only get about 60% of the vote). The councillors are routinely exposed for drug dealing, pilfering from the budget, and various other shady activities (not that the media bothers to give this much coverage, since most of it is run by friends of the Labour Party). And our Lord Provost (the equivalent of a mayor) is a convicted murderer.

Oops. I'm talking about Glasgow too much, amn't I?

Im sure everyone but Boorite can find it in their hearts to forgive you.

As a Scot, I have to say that being patriotic can be a complete pain in the arse. I agree with most, if not all of the anti-Glasgow comments made by my fellow city dwellers, but I can't stand to see some outsider slag my homeland.

I hate living in Scotland, the weather is shit, walking through the centre of Glasgow is like playing jake-bag pinball and healthwise, AIDS is the nicest way to go. But put an Englishman in front of me and I'll sing "Flower of Scotland" until I lose my voice (or a fight errupts).

Give me 'Rule, Britannia!' any day! Right now I don't mind the idea of living in Scotland, but I probably will once again when I come back. Hopefully I'll have moved to London within a couple of years. That's where Glaswegians all seem to be either begging on the streets or running the top jobs.

yes, "Flower of Scotland" IS tuneless crap, but it's one of only 2 songs that I can actually sing when drunk, the other being The Bloodhound Gang - "The Bad Touch" which isn't very patriotic.
