This type of thread is exactly what made me stop hanging around these forums. His comics are pretty good. Some of them quite good. Instead of encouraging him, like some of you did me when I started here, you shit in his mouth until there's no point in him ever coming back here. I've seen this time and time again happening to people who have decent comics, but they're just not quite awesome enough from post #1 to make you give a shit that it's an actual person over there. Fuck him, these are YOUR forums, right?
This is a great site. Really great. But do you ever wonder why only about 20 people post in the forums regularly?
Someone comes into "Read my damn comics" and says "Read my damn comics" and already he's an asshole for wanting people to praise his comics. If they're not up to your standards, you trounce him. If he comes back and says thanks for the advice, you laugh at him for not taking the low road. If he takes the low road, you nail him to a burning cross.
This particular guy actually took all of your shit, thanked you for the smarmy backhanded advice you gave him and apologized several times because he could see how you might have taken his earlier statements to heart and not realized he was poking fun. And even that wasn't enough.
Wha?! Boorite and Ivy think he sucks? Well that's good enough for me! They're like the king and queen of Stripcreator. Ignoring the fact that everything that comes out of their keyboards is dumbass inside jokes or ironic intarnets memes. That is, when they're not busy destroying every grammatically challenged 12 year old who tries to make a friend here.
I don't mean to pick on Boorite and Ivy, but they've sort of become the ringmasters of this circus of bland reciprocal handjobs that is the Stripcreator "in crowd".
To be honest, most of you are the same way. And I've done it too. It's the weather in here. Someone started it and everyone keeps it going and nobody wants to say, "Hey, we're all acting like a bunch of assholes" because then we might not be popular anymore on our favorite website.
So it's up to me to ask... what the fuck good is this website anyway? You look at Gnomz or something and say, wow what a piece of lame shit that is. And yet, it's huge. And probably makes more money in 10 minutes than Brad gets in a week. And why? Because of you maybe? Because of all your elitist self-serving look-how-cool-I-am bullshit?
The internet if filled with ignorant assholes. Do you need to be the most popular ignorant dickhead on a website with maybe 50 active forum users? It's no surprise a couple of current Stripcreator members tried to start a new life on Wittycomics. The only reason most people haven't jumped ship is because this is an otherwise great and unique website and there's not a decent alternative for people over the age of 10.
I don't even know where I'm going at this point. I'm drunk and it's late and I'm pissed off because this guy, like many many others, showed some promise and all I see is everyone shitting on him because someone else did it first. And I don't see anyone sticking up for him, so here I am.
Anyway... I stopped coming here because of this exact thing. I came back after a few months, made a few comics and tried to get back into the swing of things. And then all I saw when I checked the forums was this same shit.
A 14 year old idiot gets 300 pages of replies because he's fun to insult and a decent comic writer gets a "you suck" reply. If he says "fuck you I think my comics are good", he gets 5 pages of everyone ganging up on him for having the audacity to stand behind what he thinks is funny and then he gives up and never comes back again.
Congratulations. You're the most popular people on the best, yet least popular, comic creation site on the internet. I'm sure Brad is living the dream thanks to your hatred of anyone new or anyone who isn't as smart and funny as you are.
I dunno, I could be wrong. That's the way I see it. Do me a favor... read back through the the forums for like three pages. Tell me I'm wrong.
This website could be great and could make Brad a jillion dollars, which I think he deserves because I really love this site and the opportunities it's given me. Are you helping?
