So what is the best state in the union? As someone who was born and raised in Buffalo, I hereby pronounce that New York is entirely out of the running.

Buffalo is only one part of New York and some would say, a regrettable part ;-). Manhattan is one of the best cities in the world, and enough to qualify New York as the best state on its own standing.

Massachusettes is also great because it's one of the most open-minded and progressive states in the union (that's why Bush-backin', homo-hatin' patriots like mAAk hate it so).

California and Nevada might be up there on account of their perfect storm of warmth, weirdness and sin.
Those would be some of my choices...

What I do know is that Ohio definitely sucks. Even my friend who lives there says the same.
