Hey I just want you to post a comic about summer in general. Whther you're copmmenting on the nice scantily clad women on the beach or reminiscing about that one time your family was eaten by mosquitoes when you went camping.

limitations

-only 1 background
-no height props
-Must contain some implied(perferably violent) conclusion that would occur in a 4th panel.

An example

22936

Um, I'll judge them on say...Friday at noon

This isn't as likely to be as ha-ha as some of my CC entries, but I certainly have fond memories of attending 13 outdoor summer Dead shows (including a good one 9 years ago tonight). Those provided some worthy strip fodder, what with the music, the searing heat and drenching downpours, the streakers and births and women wanting the shirt off my back, not to mention being part of the final straw in the condemnation of a stadium.

But given the third frame rule, this looked like the proper scene to recreate ...

My favorite summer dead was the 20th anniv. summer solstice weekend - or as much as I remember.

I had a 34-contest losing streak between my last two wins, and I expect I will again, but I'm trying anyway.

Not an entry - I'm sticking with my previous one sad to say - but I thought I would pass these wishes along.

So there's a big time gap between the third and fourth panels. Sue me.

Hang on . . . .

Upon consultation with my lawyer, I have decided to retract that offer. Please do not sue me.

It's hard to see, but I did follow rule 3, regarding imminent danger. In panel 3, there is a polar bear in the background.

I just didn't have much funny to say about disastrous summertime camping trips, since I'm about to go on one. My wife and I are going to kayak around Tangier Sound in the Chesapeake. See you all next Friday, assuming the flies don't strip me of all flesh.

I would like to say in my defence that that strip of light blue along the bottom only showed up after I saved the strip.

Haven't done an Aussie strip for a while...

I should mention that this is a bit of an exaggeration. Well, in my family anyway. I have heard of families that have a traditional Christmas afternoon punch-up. It is unplanned, of course, but it happens every year.

One of my favorite holiday stories belongs to an old friend of mine. His brother came home so drunk one Xmas eve he tried to sit down next to the tree and wound up sitting in it. He crushed most of the presents and almost started a fire trying to free himself, sending bits of tree into candles across the room.

Sigh... You don't get that kind of family joy from the bob hope specials.

Yeah, and Kathie Lee, who used to be so good in providing such anguish, isn't doing any more of her holiday specials either.

And boy, won't Robinson Crusoe be surprised.

By the way, most of Alaska's about to fall to noontime. That'll just leave the Aleutians, Hawaii, Samoa, and a few other Pacific islands.

Hey. So I passed out after being up til 7:30 this morning doing...i don't remember.

Anyways, I looked at all the entries and I have to say, while a lot wee funny and all the winner really used the third rule to create hilaroty and wackiness which is why this comic:

22998

wins the contest.

Good work Spanklng.

Okay, maybe "like" is a strong word. And maybe "me" is too specific. And maybe I laughed hard at a lot of the other comics in this contest. But I'll take it. And I will speak of this moment on my deathbed.

CC39 coming up.
