When I was a kid my mom would buy everything in bulk when it was on special, then freeze it so it would last longer.
I hated waiting for my cornflakes to defrost.

My mother did this all the time. If we wanted a sandwich we had to try and pry a chunk of slices off a frozen loaf, defrost in the microwave then seperate, then put them in the fridge to cool again.
