	john scalzi, a geeky author, blogger,and friend of wil wheaton so a friend of mine, won the hugo award for best novel this wekend in texas.

	meanwhile, fred pohl is dead at 102. he was still blogging and writing books till the end.


	and economist ronny coase has died at 93. it was the efficient thing to do.


	scalzi's book is called "redshirts."
