so far today, wednesday, i took out the trash, bought another share of stock $994, took myself out to breakfast at this new hole in the wall bistro i've been wanting to check out. $11 grits potatoes
coffee. worth it. had my lawyer zoom. what that is, is i'm in a support group for lawyers with issues. we moved to zoom for the pandemic.
the racoon came back again last night so i need to sweep the stairs again, and clean out the car and bring in boxes off the front steps.
or "stoop" as us dutch-americans say. i'm mostly mayflower english, but one branch of the family moved to brooklyn in 1630 from belgium, and delaware still has some dutch and swedish place-names.
then i will go to work. i have tomorrow off, finally, so i might go to kokomo or clean the house or just sleep in.
i don't think i will get my tomatoes replanted yet; i should at least water them.

from reddit: [–]arbivark 8 points 6 months ago most of the crime i deal with is by government employees. i am pretty skilled at spotting the crimes, less skilled at catching them, but i do what i can. tonight i was out getting gas, heard a bang, and called in a car crash. cop and firetruck were there in about 3 minutes. permalinksaveeditdisable inbox repliesdeletereply [–]Memorious2008 2 points 2 hours ago 3 minutes? A house not even down the street from me got drive-by’d and the cops never even investigated or showed up 🤷‍♂️ permalinksaveparentreportgive awardreplied [–]arbivark 1 point just now where i live is pretty thick with cops and fire departments. i like to play a game where i count the number of cop cars i pass each day. most days 2 or 3, some days 6, record was 31. i had my own crash at that intersection years ago. "won" $1200 in small claims court. responding to accidents is one thing my local cops do pretty well. this week i got to fight crime. stopped into city hall to early vote. they were doing provisional ballots wrong, so i got the supervisor to come re-train them, and when i tested them yesterday they were doing it right, grudgingly. i got a smoking gun letter from the election board about their unconstitutional political sign censorship policy, and i got a lawyer interested in doing the case with me. when i went in tuesday this one cop was trying to unconstitutionally search voters, but the other cops overruled her. you can go in the west door to vote without being searched, a small change that i instigated a few years ago. and i requested media credentials to cover the primary, that if they deny me again my lawyer thinks we might have a case. so most of my crime-fighting is not burglars or muggers, it's bureaucrats.
