In 1973. DC Comics put out the first of 24 issues of "PLOP!"
"The New Magazine of Weird Humor!"
Each issue would collect short stories incorporating weird twists in horror comics.
Many of the gorey tales would punctuate the sound effects with a wet and sticky "PLOP!"
