Tyrone, have you ever seen Boyz n the Hood?
When I went to see it with my son, I experienced a good example of my eyes adjusting to light like we're discussing.
It was a bright day, so when I went in the dark theater, I couldn't see anyone else.
Then, once my eyes adjusted, I realized why it was so hard to see everyone...
My son and I were the only white people there!

This actually happened in class yesterday and I thought it was sort of funny in an unintentional, uncomfortable kind of way. This is pretty much word-for-word what he said, including the way he started by asking the only black guy in the room if he'd seen the movie.

Fuck being PC. People are way too worried about offending someone. As if we're all 5 and can't deal with someone talking shit.

"And it's hard to see them darkies smile from the back." Not surprising... but 'just wow' anyway.

@deathtoradio: I wasn't really offended, just amused by the looks on people's faces. It was kind of a "Holy shit" moment for everyone.
