It's been said before, but it bears repeating...
Not everyone is going to like your comics, just like not everyone is going to like the kind of music you listen to, movies, TV shows, etc etc. That's just a fact of life.
Well...if it's an inside joke, how are other people supposed to understand the humor in it? As for comics that are funny to the makers themselves...well, that's kinda the point. You make something that you find funny, and hope that maybe someone else will like them. I doubt anyone would make comics that they hate. Being a donor, I've deleted a whole bunch of strips that I thought sucked ass after a 2nd read (in fact, some may argue that I didn't work the delete button enough).
You posted that earlier in this thread, 2nd post specifically. Aren't you doing the same thing you're accusing everyone else of doing? I'm not saying it's bad to have an opinion, just that it seems a little hypocritical.
Basically, it all boils down to the style of humor you (and others) like. Some people like toilet humor. Some like observations-of-life type comedy. Or brainy stuff. Or current events. Or pop-culture tinged humor. Just find a niche.
