Seriously, what's the deal with that? I mean, the guy devotes his time and energy to making a website for us to all use FREELY and yet there are still people who seem to think it's somehow funny and clever to be rude about him. And before you say "it's only in jest", I'm not talking about the in-jokes and good-natured jibes, I'm talking about the all-out Brad-hating material which crops up all too often. I realise that some people disagree with some of Brad's decisions, like closing IRC and banning certain users, but if that is the case why not actually engage in constructive discussion with him instead of making ridiculous comics and posting offensive forum messages that serve only to make you look like a child?

Damn. When I was getting duked up the butt from Brad in my CC contest entry, I kinda liked it.

But other than that, I'm gonna have to agree with Chi. Stripcreator wouldn't be democratic if people who totally ripped on Brad were banned. It also wouldn't be democratic if we were suggest people who make fun of Brad should be banned.

BUT, we can have a discussion about it, as Chi so fortuitously has initiated. Please, people, stop making fun of Brad in a vicious way. I apologize if I did in my CC photoshop entry, because I didn't mean to hurt any feelings, truly. No need to go after a guy who has provided this place for us.

I have to agree with Chi and Mikey. For the short amount of time I've been here, Brad hasn't done anything wrong in my eyes. Just my $0.02.

I'm all for friendly rib nudging, and maybe the comic equivalent of a noogie here and there. But personal attacks are crossing the line.

What it all comes down to is what brad chooses to allow. I know brad is willing to accept criticism, especially of the constructive variety. He seems to appreciate freedom of speech to an extent. That extent is being pushed more and more every day, and some people don't know when to stop. I have no problem with people complaining about brad, this site, or anything else, so long as it's legitimate. I do agree with everyone else in this thread that brad did what he felt was right. I'll miss having an official Stripcreator chat, but I do see the reasoning for it as valid.

What it all comes down to is that I have little room to complain. This is, after all, a free service. I have personally donated in exchange for some extra things, but that doesn't give me, or anyone else for that matter, the right to bitch about brad's decisions. I understand his concerns, and his well-meant plan.

He's still a bobbly-headed, beady-eyed canadian who says "eh!" a lot though. :D

I guess I just don't understand why people would have such hostility toward the guy who makes this site possible. Sure I'll miss IRC, but I can totally understand Brad's reason for ditching it and support it 100%. And as for the banning, I've never seen anyone banned who didn't deserve it.

So lay off the Brad! Despite the name of his musical project, he does not suck. ;)
