Wow, there must be a lot of psychology involved in that. I mean, people in cheap halloween costumes aren't that scary, so it must take a lot of effort and expertise to get people freaked out enough to be affected. I'd love to give that a go. *evil grin*
Oh, chicka, one really disturbing thing I tried once that works extremely well if people are already nervous, and takes literally seconds to prepare. Find a dark doorway, not pitch black, but dim and out of direct light, and stick a one or two pieces of black cotton thread to the top of the door frame, just long enoug to reach down to around chest height on an average person. They are very hard to see, and the feeling of a light touch on your face as you walk past is really creepy, kinda like spider webs.
