I've read that back in its early days, basketball was played inside cages. Thus, the players became known as cagers--something you rarely hear them called today. The cages were used to keep the fans and players separated from each other. Maybe it's time to go back to that system.
Ron Artest may be a crazy bastard, but he knew exactly what he was doing when he ventured into the stands--he was promoting his new rap CD. A week or so before the brawl, Artest had asked for time off from playing basketball so he could promote said CD. The Indiana Pacers said, "No," of course. Now Artest has all the time off he wants.
