Thanks. For anyone who liked my first entry, you might be interested in reading "No Woman Born" by C. L. Moore. It can be found in Robert Silverberg's Worlds of Wonder, recently renamed Science Fiction 101 or something like that. It is a truly excellent short story by one of Science Fiction's best writers ever. The cyborg stuff was based on that story, more as an alternative sequel than as a parody. I thought of making it turn out that Colleen was really Deirdre, the cyborg protagonist of "No Woman Born," but it seemed disrespectful. The character of Deirdre was portrayed so fully in this story, its as though she's a real person to me, and when I bought "The Best of C. L. Moore," the picture of Deirdre on the cover looked exactly as I pictured her while reading the story. Anyway, great story, highly recommend it, go read it if you like good science fiction. Or even if you hate science fiction, because it is not your typical science fiction story.
