Actually, no. Stripcreator -Lowpass to you old schoolers- was always a pretty smooth interface. It's been in a constant state of upgrade, thanks to Brad, but it was never like wading through motor oil.
The art has expanded greatly since the times when you had, like, the defaults, Cowboy Bill, some stuff from exploding dog and Diesel Sweeties. (Thanks, DexX and Kaddar), but it was always pretty much a very tight base code and the subseqent bug fixes have made it not only idiot-proof, but fun to make strips with.
