kaufman's was pretty painful (punful?) but it was still very clever. Andy's was funny, and did a nice job of the punishment rule (my own strip is fairly weak in that department). *sigh* Tough choice.

One of you is one step away from a fabulous prize… the honor of running the next Cup. Here is your rule, courtesy of Kaufman:[list][*] There is a momentary power outage. The first and third panel must have the same background (not black) and characters. The second panel must have the black background, and either the same characters, or the height props. Incidentally, the rule I emailed in case of elimination last round:

" You may have heard of the films 7Up, 14Up, 21Up, etc. A film director (name escapes me for now) got a group of kids together, interviewed then about lots of things, then came back and talked to them again seven years later. He kept it going for a long time - last I heard of was 42Up. Anyway, in the spirit of those films, you must create a strip in which the three panels contain three different, equally-spaced, time periods. Further, each panel must contain the same individual or individuals (though they can be represented by different graphics to show aging, surgery, accidents, whatever). The theme of the strip must be something to do with the way things change over time."

It's been a hell of a battle, I've enjoyed this contest even though I managed to fuck it right up at the beginning.

Two prime specimens of comic makers at the peak of their game, two gladiators of the 3-panel arena, two masters of their craft....

sadly Bazilla and dcomposed weren't in this cup so we're left with DexX and andydougan...
