Speaking as one who knows these things, regarding your strip on the video game reviews, the unwritten rule in the games press is that nothing negative is ever said about a game at preview stage (ie, before the game is finished, before it's submitted to the press for review). Games get previewed time and time again before release, all positive coverage according to that unwritten rule, then finally they get reviewed.
After all that, the review should be the hard truth, but even then often it's not for various reasons. Either way, the big games get six months of what amounts to free advertising in the games press.
Pretty crappy, eh? But that's the way it is.
