Dumb Angel by Danie 9-19-05

It's grime time.

This comic is so deliciously post modern it makes my organs explode. Lets start with the basics:
The angel represents all of us who feel like they are misplaced in a world gone mad. Which now and again everyone feels like, so Danie plays to everyone�s desire to fit in. A genius move on Danies behalf. Satan obviously represents the people who aren�t left out through the eyes of the people who are. Satan believes that the angel poses a threat to here when that is obviously not the case. Now doesn�t this feel like the situation with bullies and goth kids in high schools these days? Not wanting to pick on the strange kid for fear of him shooting up the school and killing him.

The next panel we see that the angel and Satan have switched places meaning that Satan is actually the angel and this was actually the case the entire time. Satan was just wearing an angel costume to confuse possible attackers. Which is what the angel was doing as well but being as it wasn�t that important of a detail so Danie chose to leave it out which is where her brilliance lies. In her choice of removal of pointless pieces of information. Satan reveals he becomes very submissive from the angel saying he will give it anything it wants. What the angel wants is too go to heaven, which is where you start to develop sympathy for the angel. The angel wants to get out of this area and go back home. Which makes you as the reader long for a way back home too.

The third panel Satan insults the angel�s integrity questioning why he is in hell at all. The angel totally confused and bewildered by Satan�s sudden outburst that he gives up talk to the prince of darkness and wanders aimlessly around hell for all eternity.

Danie has crafted such a work of art here that it disguises itself as garbage. To the untrained eye these would seem like poor comics made by an insane little girl, but seeing the deeper meaning you get the feeling that she is much, much more than that.

In short: Lets make babies Danie.

It was such a waste of everyone’s time and money that even the Tokyo stadium’s rape robots apologized– something they were programmed specifically never to do.

Here's my take on it.

Right of the bat, Danie starts off with a clever joke. The angel tells Satan to freeze. In Hell. Obviously this is not possible given the ambient temperature there (about 10,000 degrees Kelvin). Either the angel is indeed dumb (as the title suggests) or it is a jest on the part of the angel.

Satan appears to be threatened by a mere angel. Why? Given the spelling in his thoughts, I can only conclude that he is drunk and his dark powers are low. Perhaps his vision is blurred and he has mistaken the Angel for the Almighty. We see in the second panel that he refers to the angel as "Sir."

The angel recognizes this ("Are you kidding?") but asks for directions anyway.

In the last panel we have our punchline. Satan gives directions by masturbating furiously, as indicated by his grunts of pleasure. The jism splatters off-panel in the direction of the Pearly Gates. Indeed, given the power of Satan's orgasm I think we can infer that those far-away gates are splattered by Satan's love juices.

The angel sees the trajectory of the flying wigglers and bids Satan farewell. No doubt the angel will be forced by St. Peter to clean off the gates later with his tounge.

Danie has in three panels explained the old W.C. Fields saying, "Never ask Satan for directions to Heaven when he's drunk, or you'll have to lick his sperm off the Pearly Gates."

But you'll notice the angel sufers from some kind of speech impediment. Which maybe leads to believe you the he is not an angel at all just a retarded child in a costume.

Perhaps his speaking only slurred because of wavepattern divergence and Heaven, Hell, and our universe. Each of these realms runs on a slightly different cosmic wavelength. To the outside observer beings may appear to be acting slower or faster depending on the observation point.

Now we know that Hell runs at a slightly faster cosmic wavelength than Heaven. The wavelength of our Universe is faster still. Obviously Danie has sped up the recording of these events in Hell so that we may enjoy them in our realm. Still, the angel appears to be slurring his words because he is still operating on the wavelength of Heaven. He exists in a protective "cosmic bubble" of Heaven, you see, so he always runs at Heaven speed rather than the speed of his current universe. Technically, he never really exists outside of Heaven. Rather, Heaven is being disjointedly extended into different universes and the angel is merely part of that extension.

But given that information it would be quite obvious that Satan can't actually make out what was being said. Which is why he doesn't actually address the angel he just acts all freaked out and shit. The angel obviously represents the unknown to Satan. Man Danie, this comic sure has alot of layers.

What can I say, Dumb Angel is my first Strip,and I didn't have any plan to made that strip, because the ideas just running out from my head, and beside that I'm just the beginner stripcreator. I don't believe if this comic really really have a deepest meaning for all of you dudes.
