It's rounded because it's played on a cricket field.

Here is another team I made with only players with two first names:

Backs:
Harry Taylor, Roger Hayden, Nick Maxwell
Leo Barry, Stefan Martin, Tom Harley, Paul Stewart
(Campbell Heath, Jarrod Silvester)

Mids:
Joel Corey, Brett Kirk, Sam Mitchell
Bernie Vince, Jordan Lewis, Farren Ray
(Daniel Rich, Warren Benjamin)

Rucks:
Jason Blake, Mitch Clark
(Angus Graham, Rhys Stanley)

Forwards:
Brent Harvey, Matthew Lloyd, Dale Thomas
Colin Sylvia, Scott Lucas, Richard Douglas, John Anthony
(Bryce Carroll, Jarrod Grant)

Australian football predates American football by 11 years. It's played in other countries and Papua New Guinea won the Australian Football International Cup last year in a tournament also including Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Britain, India, Ireland, Israel-Palestinian Territories, Japan, New Zealand, Nauru, Samoa, South Africa, Sweden and USA. It's not called a world cup because only 16 countries are represented but that's still 14 more than the world series of baseball.

Rugby union, rugby league, gaelic football, soccer and Canadian football all came before American football. American football is really Canadian.

The grossly neglected World Baseball Classic was created for that reason. You Aussies even have a team participating, though I think three years ago they came in second to last place behind the South African team.

Good timing. the second one starts in 16 hours. Australia will at least come third last this time!

I thought it was created to create more money for Bud Selig. You know it takes alot of money for him to be able to sleep at night after all the horrors he's commited as commisioner of baseball.

The last time I play baseball was in 2001. It was a fun sport to play what I was good at it and enjoyed. One morning in school I was in one of my physical eductation classes (I was doing four which was the maximum allowed so I don't know which it was, either general pe or stickball games which was 90% cricket). This cold winter morning we were playing a game of baseball. The sides had been picked and my side was fielding (I don't know if that's the word in baseball). I was in the position wikipedia tells me is called left field. The first guy up to bat hit the very first delivery. It came in my direction and I caught it!! The very first ball and I got a cunt out! My team was happy. The other team was dejected. It was so cool to get a guy out on the very first ball of the morning (about 9:10 am) that I threw the ball in the air to celebrate like we do in cricket. Then the teacher Mr. Simon Hast said it's not out because I threw the ball and I have to hold on to it. I had the ball for about two seconds before I threw it. Long enough to know that it had definitely been caught. It was clear that I caught it. Every person knew I did and THIS RULE WAS NEVER OUTLINED. It's a stupid rule you would never expect. I thought the goal was to catch the ball, not to catch the ball and keep it in your hand until you're told to let go. Even if it was a rule he should have understood that an Australian may throw a ball after catching it and let it slide. I felt ripped off and never played again.

The Chicago Whitesox played the Australian WBC team today in Mesa Arizona. The outcome and boxscore from that game can be seen here.

Well that certainly makes us look promising. Then again we did beat up on Australia.

And dcom, your coach/teacher/whatever didn't know what the hell he was talking about. Many times in baseball fielders will have to catch theball and quickly throw it to an infielder if the runner tags up (this on a pop fly anyway). It's a part of the game. It'd be like playing cricket with no cricket bats.

Australia destroyed Mexico in their opening match up, 17-7. Next up will be much tougher competition against Cuba on tuesday evening.

I think we should play the Aussies in Aussie rules football and then American football. The tie breaker can be decided with a checkers match.

After Australias early fresh start against MExico they lost their next game to Cuba and followed that dissapointment up with a lose to MExico in a rematch and have now been eliminated from the World Baseball Classic.

My final final team for round one.

I swapped Jordan Lewis for Danyle Pearce, Xavier Ellis for Ben Rutten, Jack Grimes for Stephen Hill and Max Hudghton for Courtany Dempsey. I also got rid of Nick Gill for Kurt Tippett (more likely to play) and Scott Lucas for Austin Wonaeamirri (poor form).

Wonaeamirri hasn't played all year. I was waiting for him to come in but I'm up against the best team in the league this week and I want to win. It was hard to decide which of Dew, Morton and LeCras to put in. I think I decided on Mitch mostly because I have one of his brothers already.
I'm ranked 15,625 of 316,868 but I don't care about that since I have no chance of winning it all. I'm 13th in one league (0-2) and 8th (1-1) in another (out of 16).
