what makes a good comic? im not really imaginative

well, my son, the formula to a good comic is an effective and well-thought out target audience...in this case, it is computer nerds...so a good comic would no doubtebly be something about computers and the life in which we live via these machines.
also, you may want to consider pornography, as we are all, as human beings, fans of such publications. you may notice that there is somewhat of a "template", if you will, of characters and such, and you may find this somewhat limiting in your quest of a sex-filled comic...so you must be resourceful (*see almost any comic for example of this. i.e. joke about a boozer wanting sex with a squirrel...two men finally accepting the changed tx sodomy laws, etc).
so on and so forth.
you might also want to make fun of yourself. this is always the outlet that i go to when i run out of shit to write about, as there is an endless supply of things that are make-fun-able about me...
which leads me to my next point...
you should have NO PROBLEM with this suggestion, as you, clearly, are a loser.

NOTE: there is no formula for a successful comic. i believe (and i could be wrong, i find this happens oh so often) comic-making...especially this site, is for the creator's pleasure. i doubt anyone here makes comics solely for the finished product. it is the journey that you must keep in mind, comrade! fuck whether or not it's funny, or if it makes any sense!!! that is not the point. and if it is, then you will not enjoy your comic-making, and should thus get the hell out.

so, expiriment. read other peoples' comics - you'll be pleasantly suprised. and hope that you get some form of creativity in you via osmosis or something...

I've only made a couple computer-related strips, and they weren't technical at all, yet I have a lot of positive feedback from the so-called computer nerds on this site.

The key is to entertain yourself first and worry about what others think about them later. When you have a few strips that you think are really funny, post them here.

Also read the feedback of other users who have asked if their strips are funny in this forum...the ones that are really bad tend to be bad for the same reasons. Avoid the common mistakes, and you'll be halfway there.

I completely agree with the above comments...and i DO hope that you recognized the beginning part of my response as sarcastic...
not bashing the so-called "computer nerd"...no, no. merely advising NOT to CATER to any particular audience. but instead to have fun with it, and if they happen to enjoy it, then whoo-haw...bonus.
