Today went well. Yesterday I spent snowed in at the hotel, sick, fighting the rats (squirrels?) and roaches for the last few scraps of food. Luckily I had the John Varley Reader to kill time with.
If I'd had my car and an alarm clock, I could have started my new job today, as it is it will be a few more weeks.
Today I rode the bike 5 miles uphill thru the snow, caught a bus to the shop where my car was - the truck had broken down while the car was in the shop, so I'd been stranded and worried.
My mechanic, who is the crackhead who lives in my garage, said the car was ok, and we looked at the truck and he thinks it's just the fuel pump, so we'll tow it in and he'll fix it.
I was able to get online at a coffee shop, feeding both addictions, so I'm feeling perkier.
