i like 'em, too, especially the alien one. but (to add some constructive criticism so you don't get away with nothing but strangers' lips suctioning your nether regions) the timing's still off. so, if you want to work on improving the humor, work on the timing. (of course, it's much easier to be a critic than a comic.)

Thank you kindly for the comments, folks.

Regarding "timing", I'm not sure what you mean by that. Could you please give me a few links to comic strips that show this type of timing in the humor so I can understand what you mean? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks. I just finished enjoying the one you did on the Home Shopping Commercial Physics. Then I clicked on the dropdown menu and saw the list of others you did. Wow. I don't know if I'll ever be able to come up with enough ideas to write as many strips as you have, but we'll see what happens a few months from now.

Yep. That Passionate Penguin one is damn good. I'd rate it 5 stars out of 5.

the aliens and the gay cowboys exhibit the best timing because the last frame wasn't as predictable (although always viable) prior to its viewing. however, the merlin one had the baby as a likely answer to the joke from the start (the timing's off because the joke's punchline is answered early), and the lesbians one was set up too obviously in the second frame (the joke's punchline was answered in the second frame: timing's off). i hope that clarifies what i mean by "timing."

anyway, like i said, though, your comics are good. i'm just offering something constructive. keep up the good work.

Thats what your dropdown list will prolly look like in 4 months! After all, you are a better n00b than I!

You have to understand as well there's more dog poo than gold in my comics...especially the earlier ones.

You'll prolly make more gold if you take advice from a lot of the oldbies and read lotz of comics of others to get the feel of the site better. I stayed isolated for about 2 months on this site. That in combination with my own lack of writing skills (I mean writing plots) lead to so much bloodshed and doggie poo.

Um dude....Where do I start? This is kind of like the movie Darkness Falls...Great ideas and plot but the acting and special effects screwed it up. Basically: Good idea for a series, good plot, bad punchlines. Work on that. There's no funny, really, but potential funniness. It's like you're holding back or something.

Thank you kindly, nicejohnson. Actually, since "Geek Boy Seeks Love" is becoming one of those "soap opera type" comic strips (like Rex Morgan, M.D., for example) as Geek Boy discovers his sexual orientation, there won't always be funny punchlines throughout the strips.

Good thing I don't plan to quit my day job, huh?

Gee, this is such a fun site! I've spent most of my day here on it, while hubby is away at a Super Bowl party.

Cheers!

I am picking up a vague 'stop calling me dude' vibe here. Correct me if I am wrong. Actually din't correct me, I am not too good with critisism.

Jeanster please read my convertible school bus series. I was like you, when I first started I wondered how in the hell some of these guys had hundreds of strips, but now I have over a hundred, it's like they are making themselves somehow, or maybe I have a team of comedy(ish) writers chained to radiators in my basement. 'Jim Davis can't come to the phone right now'.

Top of the day to you, smamurai! How are you?

Actually, I did find it a wee bit odd to be addressed as "Dude" here in this thread by nicejohnson. Is that how it works these days where males AND females are addressed that way by people who use that word? I am SO out of step when it comes to current slang sometimes.

But in answer to your question, I never meant it as a "Stop calling me Dude" vibe. I was just making conversation. Although it does kind of work out that way as a vibe, huh? Funny.

And I will most certainly make time later this evening to read your convertible school bus series. Thanks for alerting me to it.

Hi, graykane. I sure do wish I could have continued this comic strip even further. But I couldn't find anymore images of Geek Boy, such as one where he's wearing only underwear. Hahaha. Oh, well.

I'm glad you enjoyed my very first series here.

Cheers!

That's a pretty good series, smamurai. My favorite strip in it is: "It's Love Cuts Both Ways." I like that last line in that strip.

I have a question about your Teh Precinct series. What is "Teh"? At first I thought it was "The" spelled wrong. Being relatively new here, I'm a bit confused about it. I also see a mention about a "teh forum". If you could enlighten about "teh", I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
